Elwood senior Kassandra Salisbury has been in several extracurricular activities throughout her high school career. She was involved in FCCLA, speech team, one act play, Stampede, and Esports throughout her whole high school career. In her senior year, she joined the dance team. Even though she loved extracurricular activities, she also enjoyed classes at EHS. Her favorite class was art. Looking forward to the rest of her senior year, Salisbury is excited about the opportunities and experiences ahead, especially graduation.
“Graduation will be sad and rewarding; I will miss the experiences I had in high school,” she said. Her advice for younger students is to “never hold yourself back; be yourself.”
One of Salisbury’s favorite memories at Elwood is the time when a classmate dumped Coca-Cola on another student’s head as revenge for a prank with an iPad.
After graduation, Salisbury plans to attend Southeast Community College in Lincoln to study health services. She hopes to become a social worker, and help kids in the foster care system.
As her high school journey draws to a close, Salisbury will miss the unique opportunities Elwood has offered her. “Being able to do so many things at high school is something I’ll miss,” she said.
