There is a new face in the Elwood Public Schools math department: Logan Schroeder. Elwood is Schroeder’s first teaching position; he teaches junior high math, algebra 1, and applied math 1 and 2. Prior to coming to Elwood, he graduated from the Bruning-Davenport High School, then the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
Schroeder took a moment out of his busy teaching schedule to comment on his favorite thing about teaching and his biggest challenge.
“Getting to know a new community and the people in it,” said Schroeder of his favorite thing about teaching. His biggest challenge in teaching is “finding the right timing or time management.”
He also offered some advice for students and for new teachers.
“Don’t give up when it gets tough, hard or difficult; keep pushing through,” Schroeder advised Elwood students.
As for new teachers, he said, “Don’t take work with you, it can wait till the next day.”
