With 17 wrestlers on the team, the Bulls Wrestlers have started their season strong. They are ready for the challenges this season will bring. According to Coach Ryan Jones, the most difficult challenge facing the Bulls is to keep improving throughout the season and to peak at the end of the season.
Jones mentioned that this year’s team has a lot of varsity experience returning to the mat. With that in mind, he said that some of the team goals are to place at least second in the Fort Kearny Conference meet and to win ten duals. Wrestlers’ personal goals will be set in January.
Jones had some advice for his wrestlers as they face competition.
“Wrestling is a tough sport but it is also a sport that can prepare you for tough challenges in your life. There are always going to be ups and downs but the ones that keep working hard throughout the year often win out in the end,” he explained. “It is also a unique sport in that it is both an individual sport as well as a team sport.”
Coach Jones also added a personal comment: “I love getting to coach the wrestlers and enjoy getting to know them as a coach and as a principal.”
