Ashlynd Miller is a new face at Elwood School. Miller just started her first year of teaching and is really having fun and enjoying being a new teacher. She went to the University of Kearney and now she teaches in the sixth grade classroom. Miller says she likes her new classroom and all her students.
“Seeing growth from students has to be my favorite thing so far,” she said. She loves seeing when a student finally gets it and it just snaps.
One of her challenges as a new teacher is getting into a good routine, but she says she is getting there. Outside of school, Miller enjoys reading.
“I love reading, especially fantasy or romance books,” says Miller. She also played softball all through high school.
Miller encourages Elwood students to persevere, no matter what.
“No matter what happens, never give up,” she advised.
As a new teacher, she had some words of advice for fellow newbies.
“Take it day by day, make the most out of it,” she said.
Miller loves being a new teacher at Elwood!
