Elwood’s third grade students are learning and growing every day.
Third grade teacher Robin Morton shared that the students are doing exceptionally well so far this year. She described the class as "a lot of fun," adding that they work well together, show a great deal of enthusiasm, and are very dedicated to their learning.
According to Morton, the class’s positive attitude and willingness to cooperate make it an enjoyable classroom for everyone.
“It’s quite amazing to see such teamwork and hard work from a group of young third graders!” she commented.
When discussing new activities in the classroom, Morton mentioned that they are using a new curriculum called Phonics. This program is designed to improve students’ reading comprehension and spelling skills, which are critical at this stage.
“The students are diving into it with excitement, learning necessary skills that will help them read and write more confidently,” Morton said.
Additionally, Morton said that the students are following basic classroom rules.
“They know how important it is to listen, raise their hands, keep their hands to themselves, and behave appropriately in the hallway,” said Morton.
