ELWOOD PUBLIC SCHOOLS

   The second grade class has been working hard. In math, the class has been learning how to
tell time to 5-minute intervals, adding two-digit numbers, and counting coins. In reading, the
students have been working on reading fluency and comprehension, and reading with
expression. In handwriting, the second graders are learning how to write capital letters in
cursive. In science, students have been learning about erosion. Recently, the students
participated in the Gosper County Spelling Bee’s written test.
   This class is motivated to learn when the learning process answers questions they have. In
their free time, many of the second grade students love getting on Epic! and cheering on the
Kansas City Chiefs. One classwide goal the students have been working on is improving
reading skills. This group of students is full of energy and they love learning!
