November Teacher In-Service (Wednesday, November 15, 2023): The in-service was opened by Mr. Hatch who shared a number of reminders on teacher responsibilities and student's motivation. Mrs. Oaklund then reviewed the school district's emergency action plans. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Crane River's production of "Every Brilliant Thing," starring nationally-acclaimed actor Dan Beckmann, was an engaging and meaningful story about the importance of mental health. It was a great experience for Elwood's and Eustis-Farnam's 9-12 students.
The Elwood One-Act home performance has been rescheduled for 7 pm on Monday, 27 November. We are performing "A Homecoming Murder Mystery," and it is open to the public. We'd love to see you there!

We are hosting a Crane River production for grades 9-12 on Wednesday, November 15th at 1:15 pm. A letter was mailed home this week, see letter below. If you would like to opt your student out of attending, please sign the form below or contact the school.
These high school boys spent nearly an hour hearing Bill Weismann's stories about serving our country as a veteran. The boys wanted a picture with Bill. Our students realize that they have many freedoms today because of the many sacrifices all veterans gave for their country.
We are in the process of adopting SRP, an emergency response protocol through the "I Love U Guys" Foundation. We will soon be educating students/staff about SRP. Parents/guardians, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with SRP. For more info, please visit iloveuguys.org.
National Honor Society members along with other organizations from the school spent time visiting with our veterans after the Veteran's Day Program. We also elected officers this week for National Honor Society. Ryker Evans---President, Treyton Evans----Vice-President and Julian Seberger---Secretary. Congratulations to the officers and all members!
Elwood Public School was honored to host a Veteran's Day program for our local veterans today. The program included patriotic selections from the Elwood School band, the high school choir, and the elementary classes. Ed Arends, former Elwood School teacher and coach, was awarded a Quilt of Valor by the Prairie Quilt Guild. Following the program, the FCCLA chapter served homemade desserts and students had the chance to visit with the veterans.

Congratulations to the following students for earning Outstanding Acting awards at Cozad's One-Act festival yesterday: Lilly Palmer, Delaney Collins, Kassandra Salisbury, and Kara Brockman! Also, the team placed 4th in Technical Theater! Great work!
