The Hi-Line Bulls football season is underway. Hi-Line started out with a win at Pleasanton 64-22. Week 2 they played the #1 ranked team in class D1, which is North Platte St. Pats. The Bulls lost this game 56-16 but Coach Zach Schmidt says they still can accomplish all of their goals. Week 3 Hi-Line played at Sutton, which was a close game ending in a 12-8 win.
The Hi-Line Bulls team consists of 34 players, with 21 players from Elwood and 13 players from Eustis. Coach Schmidt said, “Practices are going gt. We are continuing to get better everyday and work hard, despite the heat.” When asked about what would be the biggest challenge for the team this season, Schmidt replied with this: “Our biggest challenge is having a tough schedule, but if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.” Despite having a tough schedule the Bulls still have big goals for the season. “Our goal this season is to win the district, make it to playoffs, and make a good run into playoffs,” said Schmidt.
According to Schmidt the team strengths are “Lots of speed, people who want to work hard, and great athletes.This team has a lot of talent and can go places this year. I’m excited to see where we get this year, and hope to see the Elwood and Eustis communities continue to join each other on Friday nights.”
