
Due to forecasted conditions Elwood Public School will be closed on Thursday April 11th.

The Pre-K students were able to learn about baby farm animals on Friday. They enjoyed holding baby chicks and ducks, touching a piglet and goat and petting a puppy and a calf. Thank you Codina and Connor for brining this experience to the students!!


Senior parents - As you are all aware, graduation is in about a month. Envelopes were sent home for pictures for the senior video. As well as needing your favorite pictures of them growing up, we need group shots from anytime during their life, whether it be sports, birthday parties, trips they took together, etc. If you have a digital copy please feel free to email them to jim.kleine@elwoodpirates.org

Due to the predicted weather coming in on Thursday, the Juniors will now take the ACT on WEDNESDAY instead of Thursday. Juniors will be dismissed at the conclusion of the test, appx 1:00.

Howdie Doody boys and girls, this is Makenzie Clouse your favorite robo call girl calling to let you know that there will be a late start on Tuesday April 9th. Buses will run approximately 2 hours late. Also, the juniors will be taking the ACT test on Thursday April 11th. State FFA was a blast this week, and everyone had a lot of fun. The official results will be posted later this week


Our junior high quiz bowl team is ready to rock and roll this morning. They have been waiting all week for this!


Jr. Livestock Evaluation team is excited to be up bright and early to compete on our final day of state convention. Good luck!!


Thursday night the Elwood FFA went to eat at HuHot as a group. It was a great time!


President-Jaycee Wooters and Treasurer-Megan Houser represented Elwood FFA as delegates to vote on new legislation.


Sheridan Chaney representing Elwood FFA in Jr. Public Speaking. First round was yesterday, and she made it to finals today. A great speech on lab cultured protein as “meat”.

Elwood boys: Bridal Aisle has tuxes in. If you are going to State FFA they would like to have you come tonight and try them on. Call ahead to make sure they are open. If you don't make it until Friday they won't be able to do much if the item doesn't fit.

The Principles of Technology class talked to the Pre-K Students about seeds and the plant growing process. The Pre-K students thoroughly enjoyed interacting with and learning from these Sophomore students.




The Elwood Invitational Track and Field Meet is on for today. The first round of field events begins at 12:30 with running events at 2:00. Second round field events begin at 4:00 with running finals at 5:30. GO BIG MAROON


The Maroon Platoon will be selling Pura Vida bracelets during the Elwood Track Meet today. The bracelets are $5 each.

The Elwood High School Theatre Production of Game of Tiaras will be held this Saturday, 30 March, at 3:30 pm in the gym. Tickets are $5 at the door.

The Amherst Golf Invite scheduled for this Thursday has been CANCELLED.

Notice: Due to the weather forecasted for Friday, March 29th, we have moved the Elwood Track Invite to Thursday, March 28th. Start time will be 12:30 pm. We will still have school on Thursday. Friday will still be a teacher workday (no school Friday, March 29th).
