For the 6th year in a row, Norm Evans has invited the preschool students out to explore a bit of farm life. The students were able to feed a few horses and donkeys of LeRoy Wendland then went to Norm and Cynthia's place to learn about pumpkins, sunflowers, turnips and potatoes. The students even had a couple of surprise visits from grasshoppers and caterpillars!
We ALL enjoy this experience and are so thankful that Norm, Cynthia and McKenna take time out of their lives to help us learn new things!

Our Apply2College event was a success! Reps from Wayne State College, CCC, MPCC, UNK, and UNL were here to assist seniors with their applications. Each senior applied to at least one college and some applied to as many as five!
Elwood Public Schools is proud to help raise money for Team Jack. The Pre-K students were very excited to push and pull the little red wagons filled with money down to The Home Agency. Helping raise money and awareness is a pivotal part of this process and the students and staff at Elwood Public Schools are glad to do their part. Go Big Red!!
Mrs. Corder’s 4th grade class had their first 4-H Healthy Habits lesson about re-thinking your drink and learning about choosing healthier drink options with less sugar! The 4th graders will be doing these activites over the next 6 weeks. They will learn about a healthy topic, do an activity, and enjoy a healthy snack!

Foods 2 classes analyzed nutrients of ingredients and created their smoothie recipes for healthy smoothies at the close of their Essential Nutrients unit.
On Friday, September 19th, our Elwood FCCLA Chapter held its annual Color Wars fundraiser. During Color Wars, FCCLA members promoted physical activity by organizing outdoor events, including a game of color tag where participants could purchase cups of color to throw. Additional yard games were also available for free. The event created a colorful atmosphere full of fun and friendly competition! Funds raised from Color Wars will be used to provide students with fresh fruit and vegetable snacks, supporting a balanced diet and celebrating National Fruits and Veggies Month.

Congratulations to the Hi Line VB team on a Runner-Up finish at the Maywood/Hayes Center Invitational yesterday. The Bulls defeated Arthur County 2-1 and lost to Maywood/Hayes Center 0-2.
