It's High Five Friday! Thank you to our high school youth group for covering this week. We have a mix of school and community groups leading High Five Friday this semester and it's such a fun way to celebrate making it through the week as well as practice some soft skills with greeting both people you know and do not know. Thank you for all of the interest from our community!

Eat with an Expert - Kristina Messersmith visited our school today to talk to students about her career in mental health. Kristina shared about how she started college as an elementary education major, switched to getting a bachelor's degree in social work, and eventually a master's degree in clinical social work so that she now works as a licensed independent mental health practitioner. She also discussed the differences between working in the hospital setting versus the private practice setting. Thank you for making time for us today, Kristina!

WANTED: We are looking for community groups/businesses who would be willing to come do High Five Friday at our school! The fire department led it during Fire Prevention Week and the students loved it. All you have to do is get a few people together, show up at 7:30 on the Friday you signed up for, and be ready to give out lots of high fives and smiles as students enter the building. The new year brings new things to our building. When you get a chance stop by and check out the new accomplishment banners that were hung up during break. Big thanks to Justin for working on getting them up!

On Friday, January 9th, 2010 Eustis-Farnam alumnus, Travis Pieper, will be speaking to our 7-12 students from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the gym. Travis will share his story and how he was able to overcome a terrible accident with resilience. Families and community members are welcome to attend!

School resumes tomorrow, Monday, January 5th for grades Pk-12th grade. We look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow.
