Eat with an Expert - Ryan Shutts met with students today to share about his career as a category manager for Bear Archery. Ryan showed the students a variety of products he has played a role in designing and shared about working in the hunting industry and business as a whole. He also led an engaging activity where he gave students a football, volleyball, or Pokemon card of their choosing, discussed all of the costs that go into making that card, and what each card would be priced at to make money. Thank you, Ryan, for meeting with these students today!

November is National Career Month and the K-6th grade classes spent a couple lessons learning about different kinds of education you can get after high school, the Nebraska CTE (Career & Technical Education) model, and careers that fall in each career cluster. To celebrate, we have a poster of each class to share that shows what each student wants to be when they group up. These are so fun to look back on as these students get older and gain a clearer idea of what they want life to look like after high school. First up...Kindergarten!

Mrs. Corder’s 4th grade class has been learning all about the great state of Nebraska! This last week, they created crafts for Nebraska’s State Symbols. They did the state flag, state bird (meadowlark), state mammal (white-tailed deer) , state flower (goldenrod) , and the state insect (honey bee). Great job, 4th graders!

We held our first annual mock interview event where each senior was matched with a career professional to practice their interviewing skills. The career professionals were impressed with our students and gave them great feedback. A tremendous "thank you" to our interviewers for taking time out of their day to help our students. This event was the definition of "it takes a village!"
